Elymay and Roni
I have known Sue for the past five years since becoming a late starter to horse ownership in 2009.
I bought Elymay in 2011 knowing that she had ridden problems and was likely to be a long journey/ project. Totally unsuitable for a novice of course, I have come off, jumped off & bailed out many times when Elymay out horsed me - but having seen her I couldn't leave her where she was.
Sue has shown both Elymay and I a path of training and learning which has been transformational for both of us.
We completed the first year of the AEB course in 2011 . Since then, with periodic lessons from Sue and Claire Noller, Elymay has gone from being a troubled, spooky and very unpredictable horse to one which I am beginning to trust and feel confidence in more and more. It has taken a lot of working on ground work, walking out in hand, long lining and slowly building up ridden work from bareback to saddled, but we are now hacking out on long rides on our own, which is a dream come true.
We would not have come this far without Sue and her horse focussed approach. She is able to stand in the horses' feet & explain everything from their perspective together with a deep understanding of how we as people affect the results we get (or not)!
Sue is honest about horse/ human situations and may not always tell you what you want to hear. Learning with Sue has been an amazing journey so far & I could not recommend her highly enough to anyone.
